Network and Systems Engineer

"DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the operations; wide area network, local area networks, fileservers workstations and peripherals including:

a. Maintenance, storage and verification of daily server backups

b. Maintenance and administration of virus protection software

c. Maintain security network including firewall administration, security audits,
intrusion detection and network password administration

d. Monitor general WAN, LAN and server performance and perform upgrades
as
needed to ensure continued uninterrupted and efficient operation

e. Maintenance of hardware/software control log
- Provide on site support for Makati Office on flexible hours
- Provide telephone and email support to remote users
- Provide on call out of hours support for servers and networks
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates must posses at least Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication); Computer Science, Information Technology or any related courses.
- Must have at least 5 year(s) working experience as Network and Systems Administrator
- Must have hands-on experience with Windows & Linux Server Administration and Windows Desktop troubleshooting
- Must have knowledge in Operating Systems support of the following: Windows 2003/XP & Linux Fedora/Debian
- Must have knowledge in TCP/IP suite; Network (WAN/LAN/WLAN) Troubleshooting; VPN; Remote Administration; and Internet services (HTTP, DNS, FTP, MAIL).
- Knowledge with Virtual Machine Technologies (VMware, Virtual Box, XEN) is an advantage

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems; MS-DOS, windows 98, Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000 Professional & Server, Windows Server 2003
- Advance knowledge of Active Directory Services operations and security
- Advance knowledge of network security including intrusion detection systems and firewalls
- Must have good database administration skill and knowledge
- Have an experience with facilities set up (e.g. cabling and office system configurations)
- Has experience in backup and restore operations and disaster recovery
- Proficient in hardware set up & troubleshooting
- Good in English oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, fast learner, team player and possesses a good interpersonal skills.
- Good self management and organizational skills
- Ability to think strategically so as to manage network risk
- Must be willing to be on a 24/7 on call basis
- Must be willing to travel onshore
- Must be willing to work beyond normal office hours when required
- Preferably living near Makati City
